We are an organisation attempting to improve engagement and transparency within the health and care sector in relation to abuse, neglect, disregarded (but justified) concerns, and duty of care.
Our objective is to encourage a high standard of care, treatment and dignity. We will advocate for the oppressed and the vulnerable.
Perpetrators frequently receive little or no consequence for their actions, and therefore are often able to continue working with the vulnerable.
When raising concerns (or ‘whistle-blowing’), care workers may be subjected to hostile retaliation tactics, or even dismissal. There is little protection for whistle-blowers, which builds a reluctance to speak out. This has to change.
Our intention is not to insult sincere care professionals. For those – we have the utmost respect and admiration. But for those that willfully neglect, abuse, or attempt to conceal it – we will use unethical methods such as naming and shaming to expose.
We’re working at the moment on a register that will be accessible to care providers and also to the public. The register will not only log perpetrators of abuse and neglect, but will also bullet-point care providers who are not transparent and forthcoming regarding incidents.
This register will geographically list all 48 English counties, 32 Sottish counties and 6 Northern Ireland. It will have an added section for countries outside UK.
